The studies related to the values of forests began in the 18^ century and increated in number in time. At the beginning, the production of the forests aimed only at wood ravv materials. The appraisal studies related to the other products, apart from vvood, came into the agenda considerably late, in 1950s. Today, the appraisal of the forest values continue by taking vvood as vvell as other products into consideration. Due to the present social and economical conditions, the market for various numbers of goods and Services provided by forests does not exist. For this reason, it has become necessary to develop and apply valuation (appraisal) methods vvhiclı take into consideration other criteria apart from market price. In this study the values of forest land, timber stand, forest derived from timber harvesting and the value of agricultural land are examined. In addition, the factors affecting forest values are determined and the interest rate applicable to the forestry is calculated. The values of forest lands and lands have been determined by statistical method, and income value method. The stumpage prices o f the product ranges vvith respect to compartments have been calculated by taking advantage of the conversion value method. The value of timber stand has been calculated by using cutting value, cost value and future value methods, and the interest rate applicable to the forestry has been calculated by a nevv method developed for this study.
