it has been observed that childrcn's play grounds established in Istanbul have fıxed equipmcnt, are gcncrally managed without taking into consideration the scparation of age groups and play types, are randomly site selected, and the greenery is not sufficient. Therfore a site study on the use and sufficiency of four children's playgrounds estabUshed in Istanbul possessing differcnt characıerlstics and in different locations has been carried out. In the research, techniques such as behavioral observatlon by means of video recording and intervlews was uscd. The cffccts of the distance bctwccn the children's playground and the residential areas on the usage frequencyand duration, and the forming of bonds between children were deflned: tendencies of the usage of children's playground and equipment and the greenery were defined.
