Public Interest in Forestry

In general, a conflict arises among management objectives of natural resources on the basis of demand priorities and benefits that satisfy public needs. Parallel to the above argument forest resources have experienced similar conflicts for years, which means that projects and investments on forestlands may contradict to each other. In such a situation, it is essential to specify the importance and effectiveness of usage types by considering appropriate assessment techniques and methods for providing public needs. From time to time selected usage type may have negative or positive outcomes on the sustainability of forest resources. In this article, the relationship between forest resources and other natural resources , with respect to emerged public interest in forestry, have been argued within the context of Turkish Forestry Law.
