Hard solder method in which silver solder (L-Ag 44) is used is applied for welding bandsaws. The ends of bandsaws are beveled like wed ge and added on each other up to 10 times of the thickness of the saw blade. Soldering surface of the blade can be either flat, or ho le or mound. The highest strength value is found in the flat beveled surfaces. After being cut and cleaned, the surface of solder is placed between the two beveled surfaces. The soldering is a process in which the solder area is heated. For heating, resistant type of solders is mostIy used. Solder paste is first melted using pre-electrical current and the n the process is followed by giying normal current. At the end of the process, tempering is made by weak current. Arter the soldering process, the process is finished with maintenance of the blade.
