Snow and avalanche dictionnary, prepared by Avalanche Team within the General Directorate of Disaster Affairs, Ministry of Public Works and Settlement, was evaluated from the point of view to the topic, and nomenelature concerning forestry was scrutinized. There is no Turkish description for 10.9 % of the who le entries. 639 out of evaluated 2144 terms were deseribed by the pronunciation of the pertaining word and corresponding to 29.8%. 98 terms, being used in forestry today, were wrongly described and Latin description of the plants were inappropriately given. 25 of these were entirely wrong. Additionaly, there is no references at the and of the text.
