Eight experimental trees \vere taken from Bayramiç-Edremit forest enterprise in order to determine the possibilities of using fir wood in piywood industry. From each experimental tree two logs were cut in 1,5 m and 2,5 m length and peeled into 2 mm-thick veneer which is then manufactured into plyvvood. Some physical and mechanical tests were done on the samples from the plywood panels manufactured. According to the results, especially fast-gro\ving (width of annual ring 4-7 mm) and knot-free fir wood with över 35 cm diameter can be used in producing plyvvood, particularly as core plies.
