In this study, some mechanical properties of Istranca oak {Ouercus hartm ssiana Stev.) wood were investigated. For this purpose, samples were prepared from 5 trees from the Macara region, Demirköy district, and studied for its mechanical properties. According to the tests results, the compression strength parallel to grain vvas 65.3 N/mm2, the static quality value 8.9, the bending strength 107.6 N/m m 2, the modulus of elasticity in bending 11056.1 N/m m 2, the impact bending strength 7.8 J/cm 2, the dynamic quality value 1.54, the shearing strength 8.7 N/mm2. The Janka hardness parallel to grain and perpendicular to grain vvere 78 N/mm2 and 56.6 N/m m 2, respectively.
