The im pact of the appiication of C om puter In te g ra te d M an u factu rin g (CİM ) to Forest Products Ind u stry was investigated. The m ethods invostigated were: AUTOCAD system as a CAD system, CNC m achine for panel cutting, and for drilling, and PHYTIA, a program for the personal com puters. AUTOCAD system w as used to design one of the kitchen furniturs. C om puter Aided M anufacturing (CAM), \vas applied for production of 330 kitchen furniture. An optim ization \vas obtained in panel cutting process by reducing \vaste in production. CAM helped to elevate accuracy and reduced production time in drilling opcrations. T he results showed that by using AUTOCAD an im p o rtan t reduction in products design process and in drafting time spcnt, and an inerease in productivity, can be achieved. A pplication of CNC panel cutting m achine in production, and by using PHYTIA, a reduction from 15-20 % to 6 % \vas obtained in the \vaste produced. By using CNC machine in panel cutting, a reduction from 371 h r to 15 h r \vas obtained in m achine time. By using CNC m achine in drilling, a reduction from 314 h r to 71 h r \vas obtained in machine time.
