Statistical method s are the instrumenıs used frequenıly in all disciplines, as well as in toresıry. Regression analysis is one of the statistical rnethods which is uscd alsa to estimate the relationships between the variables in forestry where the relationships are quite eomplex. The direcıion. signifieanee and shape of relationships between variables that are subject to studyean be firıd out usirıg regression analysis. Additionally, a variable. whieh is difficult to measure dircctly (dependerıt variable), can be predicted at an appreeiable confidence level from same others, which are easier to measurc (independent variables), using these relationships. Regression can be grouped as simple and multiple regression depending on the number of independent variable and linear and non linear regression depending on the shape of relationship between dependent and independent variables. In this paper, the regression and its usage were explained with examples in forestry
