Wood from oriental spruce trces grown in a plantation site in Belgrad Forest, near İstanbul, was examined for its density based on dry volüme and \veight, density based on green volüme and dry weight, shrinkage, modulus of rupture in static bending, compression parailel to grain, tension parallel to grain, toughness (shock-resisting abilitiy), and Brinell hardness. The results were compared with the values given in the literatüre.
