Because, the major element of designs created in landscape design is human being, people's need is one of the major effecting factors in space design. For this reason, physical needs become the priority following social and psychological needs conceming the formation of the spaces. For the comfort of the user, personal space distance mu st be taken into consideration. In this study, effecting factors of personal space distance are determined. This measurement not only determines the comfort of the user but also shows whether the designer made the right decision or not. In this study, personal space concept, affecting factors, how to measure the personal space distance and how this reflects on the designs of landscape architecture were investigated. Three techniques of measurement underlying many personal space researches are projeetive. simulation methods or laboratory methods.
