Here, a method is offered to obtain optimum structures for fir selectiorı forests. The natural relationships that eurrently run in unevenaged tir stands of southern Black Sea Region were based on in the ealculations of the optimum structures whieh depend on the variables, goal diameter of breast height, stand density coefficient and site quality degree. The optimum strueture maximizes the pcriodic stand volurne inerement per heetare. The ca1culation mcthods used wcre applied in a computer program, MAXART writtcn in FORTRAN 77.
