P inus brutia, P. pinea and C upressus sem pervirens a re the m ain tree species. H um an o rig in ated fires constitute a significant portion of the w iid fires in the country. T he criticai point is to keep the b u rned area in srnall am ounts. “ B üyük B eşparm ak M ountains F ire” an d “ G üzelyurt F o rest D istrict H acıbayram Series I F ire ” w ere am ong the m ajö r forest fires of N o rth ern C yprus happened in 1995 and 1998 respectively.
