The local distribution of forest products enterprises in Turkey has been considered according to the data obtained by Social Insurance Institution (S il). Results obtained have been compared to the data obtained from State Institute of Statistic (SİS). Social Insurance Institution yearbooks include the data of the insured employees that the enterprises have to report legally. In this research the data cover the enterprises producing forest products bath in provinces and regions vvhich were gathered from the S il by computer-based questioning. Than it was classified and examined at sub-sector base such as forest industry (excluding furniture ), furniture, cellulose, paper and paper products and other forest related Services. The results showed that population density and forest existence vvere the most important criteria, respectively, in the distribution of the enterprises producing forest products, in the country. Comparison of the statistics of S il vvith SIS revealed that 21% of the enterprises that process the forest products employed vvorkers vvithout informing the SİS.
