Age of elementary school has great importance for development of the children. In this age, the school is the environment where the children spend most of their time and from what the children are most1y affected. Knowledge learned and events observed in this environment are the bases for the children to be healthy individuals of the society. Experiences and knowledge learned by Iiving and playing in the school gardens have important roles for children as much as those learned from the other educational tools. For these reasons, this study focuses on the development of landscape designing norms for elementary school gardens to make them educational areas together with playing areas by giving priority to the needs, security and health of the children.
