INVESTIGATION OF TRANSPORTATION BY TRUCK IN ARTVIN REGION

Taşlıca Forest District in Artvin Region Forestry Directorate was selected a suitable study area for this investigation. Seventy percent of the planned forest road network in Taşlıca Forest District has been completed. Average forest road density in the district is 15,84 mlha. These trucks in region are generally 3 axed and AS 600 Dodge, AS 900, BMC Fatih and Mercedes types. Average productivities transportation by trucks in the region are 19,155 rnvshift for conifer logs, 26 stere/shift for fuel woods. Measurements on the transportation by truck in the region indicate that total time of loading, transporting, unloading logs by trucks and the returning time to forest is about 9,30 hours.
