This study investigated surface roughness of sliced veneers obtained from some tree species grown in Turkey. Tests \vere made on veneer surfaces using an perthometer ppk at 20°C with a moisture content of 12%. Results of variance analysis showed that there were signiFıcant differences among the facrories based on crown walnut veneers, crown beech and rift beech veneers however there was no signiFıcant differences based on the rift veneers. Average roughness values(pm) were 8,95,10,66, 9,33, and 10,67 in crown walnut, rift walnut, crown beech and rift beech veneers respectively.
