Inventory techniques. which could be used in the city groves those differ from the normal forest enterprises from the standpoints of magnitude and planning principles, were pointed out in this article. For this purpose. inventory system applied in 12 city groves belonging to the Municipal of Istanbul aimed to point out the actual situation was explained. The criteria used for segmentation of varying inventory units by means of ortho-photos, and the procedure adopted in completing of area inventory were c!arified as the fırst step. At the second step the measurements and observations in order to present the growing-stocks of inventory units, and integration of various sampling techniques for this purpose were illustratecl with the samples and fıgures.
