The changes in some seedling characteristics under different growing media of Rosa Meilland Leonardo da Vinci rose grown in the Alibeyköy Nursery of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality—Ağaç ve Peyzaj AŞ. (Ağaç AŞ.) and some physicochemical properties in different growing media mixtures were investigated. The mixtures included different ratios of imported peat, local peat, soil, pumice, river sediment, and Osmocote (Osmocote Exact®) fertilizer, which are conventional production materials for potted plants in the nursery. Five different growing media mixtures were prepared, five treatments, each comprising 12 seedlings with three replications, totaling 180 seedlings. Leaf length, leaf diameter, shoot number, shoot length, plant diameter, flower diameter, and flower number were determined in rose seedlings through weekly measurements conducted over a 14-week period. In the mixtures of the growing media, sand, silt, clay, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total salinity, water saturation, organic matter (OM), carbonate (lime), total nitrogen (Nt), phosphorus (P2O5), potassium (K2O), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn) analyses were carried out. The results obtained from the mixtures were compared using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Some significant changes were determined in the seedling characteristics during the weekly evaluations. Although no consistent trend was observed, only the number of shoots differed significantly between the mixtures over the 14-week period. Water saturation, pH, lime, Nt, Ca, Fe, Mn, and Zn were significantly different when comparing the physicochemical properties among the prepared mixtures.
