In this paper, fırstly, criterias which we should consider while we design children playgrounds are determined. Then detailed informations about design components which are necessary for playground planning are given and children playgrounds are classified. Finally, after a quality planning and design, informations about playgrounds safety and maintance issues which are necessary for sustaining playgrounds are discussed.
