The fam ily Splıingidae (Lepidoptera) has 63 species distributed in the W estern Palaearctic Region of the \vorld. 35 species out of 63 present in Turkey either perm anently or tem porarily. The subfam ilies Sm erinthinae, Sphinginae and M acroglossinae are consisted of 7, 4, and 24 species respectively. This study vvas conducted betw een the years of 2002-2003. 10 out of 35 species \vere captured in the field. A vailable know ledge of Splıingidae of Turkey vvas evaluated and sum m arized vvith this study as vvell.
