Some anatomical features and air dry density of Pinus pinea L. grovvm in İstanbul, Turkey vvere investigated and compared with other Pinus species grovvn in Turkey. The mean tracheid length 2477 pm, tracheid number in per mm2 1067. Mean tracheids tangential diameter 38.53 pm in earlywood and 28.13 pm in latewood. Mean tracheids wall thickness, 3.64 pm in eariyvvood, 5.37 pm in latevvood. Rays heterogen, uniseri, 1-25 cells height. Rays number in per mm 6. Cross-field pits, pinoid. Air dry density 0.524 g/cm3.
