In this paper, according to the contem porary forestry concept m ultiple-use principle from the wood!and is considered and it is pointed out th a t this principle should be taken into account in surveying and planning steps for the purpose of reforestation of burned forest areas in N orthern Cyprus. In this connection, firstly, effects of forest fire on hydrologic cycle, soil properties and regeneration of Pirıııs brııtia are generally discussed. Secondly, taking into consideration the clim ate, geology and soil properties of burned forest land in N orthern C yprus, clıoice of tree species suitable to objectives, soil preparation, plantation methods and m aintenance technics are explained. Necessity of application of reforestation principles in arid and sem iarid lands is also underlined.
