TIıis research is made to determine tlıo clay minerals in soil clay and their distribution in profiles and some characteristic properties on Eskişehir Forest Nursery site. According to the resıılts of analyses, the dominant clay mineral İb montmorillonile. The montmorillonite has heen found both dioktahedral and trioktahedral form. Interlayer materlals dolomite, calcite, feldspar, quartz, sepiolite and tracely hematite are associated with montmorillonite. The dioktahedral montmorillonite has been accompanied by calcite and trioktahedral montmorillonite by dolomite. Clay minerals are either iveli cristalized or higlıly cristaline stable clay mineral suvit are present. This indicates that in the ıvhole system, pedogenetic ıveathering is sıvept aıvay. There is no evidence of the development of new clay minerals in the profiles. Ali the clays present in the profiles have becn transported by, floods, and rivers coming from long distance.
